HISTORY OF LIONS COMMUNITY PARK
What is known today as Lions Park in Cochranton began as a community project in 1960 by the Cochranton Lions Club. Today, the land that one housed a saw mill (1803) and later a grist mill (1809) is now a recreational area open to the public. The Lions Club continued to operate and maintain the park until August 2019 when ownership was turned over to the Cochranton Borough. In recent years, the park has seen the addition of a walking trail, youth soccer in the summer and a fully renovated playground. There are 4 picnic pavilions for rental.
